Perséphone Ashtray

We love when something functional can also feel like a piece of art. The Perséphone has that rare mix of delicacy and sensuality, with an organic, almost otherworldly quality. Designed as an ashtray, we love it just as much as a beautiful catchall for jewelry and other small treasures. In fact, we love it so much that you’ll find one in each of our studio treatment rooms - a small sculptural object that makes any space feel a little more special.

Justine Ménard is a French glass artist based in Barcelona, working with borosilicate glass to create delicate, sculptural objects shaped entirely by hand.

Her practice explores transparency, light, and organic form, drawing inspiration from marine life, the natural world, and imagined histories. Using a torch technique that brings breath, heat, and gesture into direct dialogue with the material, each piece is individually formed and annealed for strength while preserving the inherent delicacy of glass.

Sitting at the intersection of object, jewelry, and sculpture, Ménard’s work balances craftsmanship with a quiet, poetic sensibility—creating pieces designed not simply to be used or worn, but lived with.
